She studied until class eight and dropped out, when she was about 17 years old, she worked as a waiter in a hotel of their relatives, where she met a man and they fell in love.

After three months being together as lovers, the man invited her to his house, when she got there a man violently locked the house and she never left ever since.

“One day when I had a day off, he asked me to visit him at his house and that was not a big deal since we were lovers for three months and after entering his house he locked the gates and said you’re my wife now, and I was locked for two weeks.” Sadly, Janet testifies.

She stayed there and had their first child later, had their second child as well and the man’s job failed, when he started to act weird and start to be violent. He had many anger issues that he started beating her up for no reason and developed some strange behaviors like bringing in other women and tells his wife to go back home.

However, she persevered and endured the suffering, she got pregnant to the third time but the husband never cared, he carried on his violent behaviors and she left for good, upon reaching home her mother told her to go back but she rather opted to go to her sister.

“After going back home my mother never gave me a warm welcome, she rather chased me away, I then went to my sister’s house, and after three days they looked a house for me.” Sadly said Janet.

She started fetching water for people, and washing random people clothes, and it earned her some money, which helped her to survive later she was able to take her children to school. She got a capital and started a business in the market selling some vegetables, and still she was not safe from her husband.

“I never knew my husband was tracking every movement I made, one evening I met him, he came and pushed me down, took out a knife and stabbed me on shoulders, and Good Samaritans took me to the hospital but I couldn’t be hospitalized then the police escorted me back home.” Says Janet sorrowfully.

She never waited to recover, so she left the hospital, and continued her activities. In town, she met her late husband again and attacked her once more.

“One late night I was coming from home, he said to me I didn’t want to go back to his house, I said we should talk about it and parents as well and he said I’m going to kill you. He poured petrol on me and lit up the matchstick and I burnt alive, he quickly fled.” Sadly said Janet.

She screamed people came and took her to the hospital when they called her mother but she hang up the phone, until a friend of hers showed up and took her home. Her mother later came and instead of caring her, they put her in a corner so as no one to notice her.

When her friend pastor heard that, he helped with the community and bought her a house and materials, she learned her children when she was in the hospital they spread in the streets.

In 2014, she realized her ex-husband who almost took her life was looking for her to end her life so they shifted.

She had a small shop but according to lack of enough capital the business failed, and her last born who was In primary four dropped out but other finished.
